A Look Back At the 2018 Homelessness Efforts

The City of Dana Point strives to create a sustainable, measurable program to eliminate the necessity of homelessness. We are continuously working to coordinate resources and provide services to end the homeless of individuals and families living in Dana Point.

Currently, the City has 28 clients actively working with outreach. In 2018, 22 individuals were housed, and in December alone there were 53 interactions, including linkages to services and resources.

In all of 2018, Dana Point had a combined total of 634 interactions created by the City’s outreach efforts. These included:

  • 22 housing placements
  • 149 intakes were completed
  • 28 active clients
  • 147 linkages to services
  • 7 diversion resources
  • 132 collaborative case management situations
  • 29 field support calls

The City, along with many Dana Point residents, volunteered to be a part of the 2019 Point In Time count. The count provides vital information that helps the County better understand homelessness in the community and guides how the County and its partners respond to homelessness in Orange County. We want to thank those in our community who participated in the count this year.

Homelessness happens in every community, and we want to answer some of your questions across our social media channels. Stay connected on the City of Dana Point Facebook and Twitter pages for useful reminders and resources.
