Festive Fall Events
The days are getting shorter, the nights are cooling down, and we’re planning our trick or treating route along with our favorite costumes. Dana Point is loaded with fall festivities that are fun for families, children, adults, and even pups!
Doheny’s Annual Halloween Haunt 10/19
Wear your Halloween costumes, explore our craft and educational booths, earn tickets for prizes, stroll along the Spooky Walk, get a temporary tattoo or maybe get your face painted, and indulge in Halloween snacks at Doheny’s Annual Halloween Haunt. It happens on Saturday, October 19th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Woofstock! 10/20
This is a celebration of our Dana Point dogs. There will be many dog organizations and vendors with amazing dog toys and treats, along with a dog and owners parade and Halloween costume contests from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Active Lifestyle (50+) Social: Halloween Haunt 10/24
Come and join the fun with a themed buffet dinner, live entertainment, and a free raffle with prizes. This month’s theme is Halloween Haunt! Come dressed up if you want. Dinner will be provided by a local restaurant. Cost is $10/person and pre-registration is required and must be done by October 18th. The fun happens from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Yappy Howl-O-Ween 10/24
Yappy Hour is baaaaack, but this time with a Halloween twist. Bark your calendar to join other canines and their companions to sniff and schmooze Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Proceeds support the Veterans Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence.
Halloween Spooktacular & Trunk or Treat 10/25
Join the City for a Spooktacular Halloween-themed event at the Dana Point Community Center. The City of Dana Point Recreation Division is teaming up with Dana Point Police Services for two great family events on one night. Besides our regular indoor activities of carnival games, crafts, cookie decorating, entertainment, costume parade, and treats for all the children, Dana Point Police Services will be holding their Trunk or Treat event in the parking lot area. Come meet the Blood Hounds, Bomb Squad, K-9 Unit, Mounted Patrol, and the dedicated staff that keeps our City safe. There will be free BBQ hot dogs and refreshments. This event is from 4:30 – 8: 30 p.m.
Soroptimist International Capistrano Bay – 2nd Annual Craft Fair 10/26
There will be tons of local vendors selling all their amazing crafts and specialty items. This annual event is to promote the Soroptimist mission of supporting young women and girls in our Community. VFW Post 9934 will be manning the barbecue to benefit the organization. It’s a great time to get your holiday shopping done early. Shop from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Halloween Costume Cruise 10/26
The Dana Wharf is hosting a Halloween Costume Cruise (21+) around the harbor along with live music! There will be a costume contest with a cash prize, a complimentary glass of Pride Punch, and a frightening fun after-party to follow at Waterman’s Harbor! The event is $28 per person, and the cruise is from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Tail of Two Cities Gala Masquerade Furball 10/27
Join Pet Project Foundation for its 17th Annual Tail of Two Cities “Masquerade Furball” Gala at the beautiful Bella Collina San Clemente. This event will benefit all of the animals at the San Clemente-Dana Point Pro-Humane Animal Shelter. Funds raised at this event will ensure that every animal in our care will have a safe refuge until a permanent, loving home can be found – no matter how long that takes. The Gala is from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m.
Halloween Terrifying 10K, 5K and Kids Run 10/27
The Halloween Terrifying 10K, 5K, and Kids Run is back at Salt Creek Beach! There will be costume contests, pumpkin decorating contest, a pumpkin patch, trick and treats aid stations, amazing views of the beach, and spooks, ghosts, and goblins along the course. All finishers receive a medal – even the kids! Race day registration and All-Hallows Festival opens at 6:30 a.m.
