The Dana Point Youth Job Fair
Summertime is bustling in Dana Point which makes for a great opportunity for our youth to get out of the house, earn some money and gain job experience. The Dana Point Youth Board, in Partnership with Dana Point Harbor Partners and the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce, present the first annual Youth Job Fair to be held on April 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Dana Point Harbor.
This is an opportunity for local youth to spend their summer working hard and getting involved with our community. The youth labor force which is considered ages 16 to 24-year-olds working or actively looking for work, grows sharply between April and July each year. During these months, large numbers of high school and college students search and take summer jobs. This is a busy time, as many graduates enter the labor market to look for or begin permanent employment. From April to July 2018, the number of employed youth, between 16 and 24 years old increased by 2.0 million to 20.9 million, as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. July typically is the summertime peak in youth employment.
This is why we are inviting all Dana Point businesses that are looking for summer help to participate by having a table at the Youth Job Fair. Participants will be coming from local high schools excited and eager to find a job!
