Movies In The Park

When you look at the summer calendar, does it look like this: Beach all day and movies all night! Nothing says summer like a movie under the stars with all of your family and friends in Dana Point.

Every June, the City of Dana Point Recreation department puts on Movies in the Park for locals and visitors to come and enjoy.  For some of us older residents, it’s the closest thing we have to our memories of the drive-in movie theaters from yesteryear.

Showings will take place each Friday night in June from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. in Lantern Bay Park. Grab a low back chair (so your neighbors can see) or a blanket to sit on, snack on the FREE popcorn provided or purchase available refreshments benefiting local elementary schools and non-profit organizations.   It’s a great opportunity to pack the picnic basket with a late dinner or some sweet treats and enjoy an evening with family and friends.

This summer, we will be featuring the following films:

June 7th: Mary Poppins Returns

Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives. This will be one both adults and children will enjoy.

June 14th: Ralphs Breaks the Internet

Six years after the events of “Wreck-It Ralph,” Ralph and Vanellope, now friends, discover a wi-fi router in their arcade, leading them into a new adventure.

June 21st: Christopher Robin

Another classic all will enjoy as Christopher Robin – now a family man living in London – receives a surprise visit from his old childhood pal, Winnie-the-Pooh.

June 28th: Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation

The Hotel Transylvania series is a complete family entertainer. A Monster Vacation triples the fun factor with more humor and great music.
